Traveling in Denmark

Denmark is an easy country to travel in and explore during weekends and holidays because of its short distances very well-developed infrastructure. Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, is e.g. only about 4½ hours away from Aalborg by train or less than one hour by plane. Transportation by plane is, however, relatively expensive and subsequently most people travel by train, bus or private cars when traveling in Denmark.

The railway network is highly well-developed, and where the train does not take you to your final destination, you can take a bus. There are bus routes to even the smallest towns.

Because of Denmark's unique location as part of Europe as well as Scandinavia, traveling to other countries is relatively easy and quick as well. You can reach London, Paris or Rome in 1-3 hours by plane, and private cars, trains and long-distance busses are also an option.

Denmark has 13 airports, of which the airports of Copenhagen, Billund and Aarhus are the busiest when it comes to passenger transportation. There is an airport in Aalborg and Esbjerg as well.
