DeXus 6.0: Discourses and Practices is a project-centred research summer school for doctoral students and scholars. The thematics of this summer school is prompted by the recent emergence on the global stage of a set of interlocking global crises – including climate, energy, food, water, finance – which demands a renewed interdisciplinary effort to understand how to mediate the future, the past and the present in ways that attend to equity, justice and rights.

Sonic Signatures Symposium Wednesday 9. April 2014 at 8:30 - Friday 11. April 2014 at 17:00
Compositional style and instrumentation provide an identity to a recorded music artefact, a means to recognize the imprint of composer and/or performer and variously historical, cultural, political, national and rhetorical milieux. There is, however, another strand to identity that derives from the processes of recording and post-production, a strand that may be termed the artefact's sonic signature. The Sonic Signatures Symposium deals with the debates surrounding the sonic signatures of recorded music artefacts. PhD and postdoctoral researchers are invited to participate.
