Acoustics and Audio Technology, MSc in Engineering

Acoustics is the science of sound and embraces all aspects of the generation, transmission, propagation, and possible effects on humans, incl. how the sound is perceived.

The master's programme in Acoustics and Audio Technology provides students with classical and modern aspects of physical acoustics, psycho-acoustics, and electro-acoustics. Methods within signal processing, psychometry, building and room acoustics, tests of human hearing and perception are all integral disciplines in the programme, enabling a contemporary understanding and utilisation of the newest sound and audio technology.

Students obtain a broad background in Acoustics and Audio Technology, and they have the opportunity to take part in our research activities. Moreover, they have access to facilities of a very high standard, incl. anechoic rooms, standard listening rooms, listening cabins, audiometry room, infrasound chamber, an auditory virtual reality workbench, and high quality measurement equipment and signal processing equipment.

Many foreign and Danish students have followed one or all semesters of our postgraduate programme in Acoustics since 1997. Their interest and general success worldwide encourages us to continue and expand the programme, most recently with a revision in 2011.
