Chinese Area Studies (CAS) is a specialization under the Study Board of International Affairs.
Chinese Area Studies can be chosen as an integral part of existing Master’s programs, for instance:
- Development and International Relations
- European Studies
- Culture, Communication and Globalization
- International Business Communication, English (SIV).
The specialization in Chinese Area Studies enables students to focus on China as a particular field of study within their chosen MA program.
Chinese Area Studies provides an interdisciplinary understanding of Chinese society, history and culture, economic and political development, as well as China's engagement with the world and its impact on the world economy and international relations.
A series of weekly lectures introduces various aspects of contemporary China in an integrated and interdisciplinary manner. This allows students to analyze China-related issues from a multi-faceted perspective.
