Energy engineers with the specialisation in Power Electronics and Drives (PED) have a wide range of job opportunities. You can work in project engineering, research, development and management in Danish and international industries or public institutions.

Examples of possible employers are in the areas of:

  • Wind energy for converter and generator design such as Vestas
  • Electrical drives such as Danfoss and Grundfos
  • High power converters for compensation or active filters or for machine design such as ABB and Siemens
  • Control of converters such as KK-electronics
  • PV-systems such as Danfoss Solar Inverters
  • Particle accelerators such as Danfysik
  • Switch mode converters such as Bang & Olufsen
  • Novel lighting such as Martin Professional

Your work tasks may include:

  • Integration and operation of wind turbines
  • Laying high voltage cables
  • Energy distribution to the general population
  • Energy optimisation of apparatus, systems and households
  • Development of new energy technologies and systems
  • Analysing new energy technologies
  • Researching energy resources
  • Consulting
  • Teaching
  • Assessing the sustainability of different forms of energy
  • Energy efficiency in the production and consumption of energy
