Apply as guest/exchange student

Applicants with a legal claim to admission are:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Energy Engineering, Aalborg University, campus Aalborg
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Sustainable Energy Engineering, Aalborg University, campus Aalborg

Applicants without a legal claim to admission are:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Energy Engineering with the specialisation in Thermal Processes, Aalborg University, campus Esbjerg
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering with relevant elective courses, Aarhus University, campus Aarhus
  • or similar

Please note that it is only possible to change your choice of specialisation within the same study programme if you have not used any examination attempts and/or passed any modules on your original choice of specialisation. Additionally, there has to be free study places on the specialisation you wish to switch to.

Official English language requirements

Applicants applying for Master's programmes at Aalborg University must submit results of an IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge test with the below mentioned minimum scores:

Danish B level in English compares to:

IELTS (academic test). 6.5 overall band score
TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum score: 85
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE): 180 / level C1
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 180 / grade C
ECPE: Passed test including certificate

How to apply

When you apply for a Master's programme at Aalborg University, you have to use the Application Portal which is a national Danish digital application system in which the entire application process is handled.

Please note that some of the programmes offered may be subject to restricted admission. That means that the individual programmes may have a limited number of student places. Information on the programmes affected and the exact number of places offered will be available shortly when finally clarified.
