Application and requirements

The following degrees qualify for the master’s programme in Medialogy at Aalborg University:

If your bachelor's degree does not immediately qualify for the master's programme in Medialogy, your application will be assessed by the Study Board of Media Technology.

*Please note that the bachelor's programme in Medialogy in Esbjerg is closed for admittance from September 2015. Bachelors in Medialogy from AAU Esbjerg are equally to Medialogy bachelors from Aalborg and Copenhagen qualified to apply for the master's in Medialogy in Aalborg and Copenhagen.

Screening of applications is based on the following criteria in order of priority:

  • Grades obtained on completed semesters of the undergraduate programme at the time of assessment.
  • The given motivation for studying and the knowledge of the MSc.
  • Relevant, verifiable extra-curricular activities, e.g. work experience within IT and / or companies within media production, programming, sound and film.

Official English language requirements

Applicants applying for Master's programmes at Aalborg University must submit results of an IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge test with the below mentioned minimum scores:

Danish B level in English compares to:

IELTS (academic test). Minimum score: 6.5
TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum score: 88
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE)
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

How to apply

When you apply for a Master's programme at Aalborg University, you have to use STADS-DANS which is a national Danish digital application system in which the entire application process is handled.

Please note that some of the programmes offered may be subject to restricted admission. That means that the individual programmes may have a limited number of student places. Information on the programmes affected and the exact number of places offered will be available shortly when finally clarified.
