“an education like the one that Aalborg University provides is for sure a huge asset on an engineer’s resume”
“I have a M.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Engineering with a specialisation in Offshore Energy Systems. As an electrical engineer with a bachelor specialisation in renewables, my want to gain expert knowledge in wind energy, required me to choose a program in a country that leads within this industry.
In the beginning of my education, the programme wasn’t only focused on the wind domain but was trying to give a broader picture of the offshore industry. Courses in different topics were meant to give the students – especially the internationals – an idea of how to study a Master programme I Denmark. Cooperation between the students is the thing that the university is trying hard to teach to students, in order to prepare the students for the actual work life afterwards. Moreover, the courses and the semester projects that were based on the industry’s ideas and needs, were always hard but fun to do. By finishing my programme at AAU, I could certainly say that I obtained more than I was even thinking in the beginning and I could easily build my engineer career on my education. The skills and the techniques that someone can obtain, at least in the engineering domain, at AAU are highly rated and enough to build future success.
Not long after my graduation and after some interviews around Denmark, I had the chance to start working with Siemens – Gamesa Renewable Energy. As a Patent Engineer, I have the chance to work with the latest ideas of wind industry and cooperate with brilliant engineers and inventors. In a position like this, a constant need of knowing where the industry is going, latest technology and cooperation with different departments and people is a must! All three needs were perfectly covered from my education at AAU, especially the cooperation by the PBL learning programme that the university uses. In order to work successfully in a multi-cultural company like Siemens – Gamesa, an education like the one that Aalborg University provides is for sure a huge asset on an engineer’s resume.”
