WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT JOB SITUATION AND WHAT DOES IT ENTAIL?
I'm working in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as an HSE specialist in environmental topics. I'm in charge of defining and cascading the environmental strategy of the company and setting environmental targets towards a net-zero carbon operation. Additionally, I support the consolidation of internal reports such as the sustaiability and GHG emmissions report and also to report to various sustainability and climate change indexes.
WHICH SKILLS FROM YOUR EDUCATION CAN YOU USE IN YOUR CURRENT JOB?
In particular, the UEEP gave me the basis to understand sustainability in a more holisatic approach and to apply theories to solve real problems.
The AAU PBL model gave me a structured, collaborative and participative workstyle, which is key for my current job. This model also allows me to use strategies to solve problems and to manage the complexity of multi-disciplinary projects in my daily work life.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR STUDY PROGRAMME?
I chose the Cities and Sustainability specialisation because I always wanted to create sustainable communities and cities. I was keen to understand how cities function and help them in their transition towards a more sustainable model. I was curious to know what changes should be made and where to begin.
HOW DID YOU EXPERIENCE YOUR STUDY TIME AT AALBORG UNIVERSITY?
My study time a t AAU was full of "news" - new friends, new city, new study model - there was always something new in my day. I was surrounded by very dynamic people (students, teachers and supervisors), passionate about sustainbility issues from different backgrounds and with a great desire to teach and learn. It was a challenging but cheerful experience, full of knowledge.
