Application and requirements

To enter this master programme you must have a relevant bachelor degree. The bachelor in Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning at Aalborg University, Denmark gives you direct access to the programme. Other relevant bachelor degrees could be within engineering or geography. However all applications for the master programme is evaluated individually and the relevancy of the bachelor degree is evaluated through this process.

You can study as a guest student on the first and/or second term or as a master student following the entire two-year degree programme.

All applications are evaluated individually.

Deadlines for application

For the master's programme we only have a September intake. Students seeking admission to the entire master's programme have the following deadline:

March 1

Students applying for the spring or autumn semester as a guest/exchange semester

Students seeking admission to master's programme as an international exchange student have the following deadlines:

1 April for the September intake

15 October for the February intake

Official English language requirements

Applicants applying for Master's programmes at Aalborg University must submit results of an IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge test with the below mentioned minimum scores:

Danish B level in English compares to:

IELTS (academic test). 6.5 overall band score
TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum score: 85
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE): 180 / level C1
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 180 / grade C
ECPE: Passed test including certificate

This programme only offers September intake. Deadline for applying is 1st March

How to apply

When you apply for a Master's programme at Aalborg University, you have to use the Application Portal which is a national Danish digital application system in which the entire application process is handled.

Please note that some of the programmes offered may be subject to restricted admission. That means that the individual programmes may have a limited number of student places. Information on the programmes affected and the exact number of places offered will be available shortly when finally clarified.
