TITLE:

"Microcalorimetric Evaluation of Wettability Alteration and Geothermal Brine Reinjection"

ABSTRACT:

The mechanisms by which an injection fluid alters physically and chemically a rock are not well known and therefore fluid-rock and fluid-fluid interactions are getting more attention nowadays. Those interactions play a significant role in enhanced oil recovery and also throughout water injection into the geothermal reservoirs. This PhD study shows that microcalorimetry could be used to get an improved understanding of such complex interactions in different types of rock materials (carbonates and sandstones) and fluids (highly saline brines, diluted brines and crude oil), which has not been provided sufficiently in the existing literature.
