PhD course: Aesthetics and Aestheticization Processes in late Modernity

The following course addresses on a humanistic, interdisciplinary basis primarily PhD-students who work with aesthetics, aestheticization, and creativity with point of departure in or in relation to media- and/or communicational matters of a psychological, sociological artistic or engineering nature.

The course addresses both PhD-students within media, communication, psychology and within philosophical and sociological aesthetics, theory of art and also students with a more practical and user-oriented approach to aesthetics and aestheticization including all forms of design, architecture and engineering. The ambition of the course is interdisciplinary and inter-paradigmatic aimed at bringing analytic-theoretical and synthetic-creative approaches into play.

The aim of the course is to develop and support the participants’ individual projects through active participation in the seminar, which pursues a productive interplay of lectures, presentations and dialogue in workshops and group- and plenary sessions.

The course covers three days (yielding 5 points). A reduced course of either the two first or the two last days is also an option (yielding 3 points).
