The 11th International Conference on Smart Energy Systems (SESAAU2025) is organised by Aalborg University and Energy Cluster Denmark. SESAAU2025 takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 16-17 September 2025.

Over its decade-long existence, the conference has become a significant venue for academia, industry, consultancy, and utilities to engage and discuss how to transition the energy system. Originally developed as a spin-off from the 4DH Research Centre targeting 4th Generation District Heating, the conference maintains a strong focus on district heating systems but also focuses on the integration with other sectors – electricity, cooling, industry, and transport in line with the sector integration core of the smart energy system concept.

  • Conference chairs: Henrik Lund, Brian Vad Mathiesen, Poul Alberg Østergaard og Jakob Zinck Thellufsen from AAU and Hans Jørgen Brodersen from Energy Cluster Denmark.
  • Deadline for abstract submission: 22 April 2025. Submissions must be made via the conference website.
  • Registration deadline: 20 August 2025 (Early registration: 1–31 May, Regular registration: 1 June – 20 August). Registration opens on 1 May and must be completed via the conference website.
