With the arrival of spring, AAU says goodbye to the material for the staff performance and development review that everyone has used for the past six years and welcome new material.
Working at AAU must be meaningful for everyone, and we must have the opportunity to develop our personal and professional potential. This means that everyone must have the opportunity to continue to develop, and to contribute to the organisation's ambitions and development, regardless of experience. This is the starting point for the AAU material on the staff performance and development review.
The AAU staff performance and development review material is based on Tønnesvang's medarbejdervitaliserende samtale [staff vitalising dialogue] with a focus on the individual as a whole and their motivation for developing their competencies, potential and well-being. The new material gives manager and staff member the opportunity to converse based on an easy-to-understand, visual tool that can be used to put words to the staff member's experience of well-being, competencies and development potential.
Christina Lademann Wiederholt, HR-partner manager og Head of International Staff Unit, says:
- I look forward to using the new staff performance and development review concept. I am especially looking forward to using the visual tool that helps both manager and staff member get to the core of the review, namely the staff member's development and learning.
The 'old' material has been revised based on experience with the material and a desire for new, improved guidance. Many dedicated staff members and managers across units, departments, academic staff, and technical and administrative staff have helped shed light on the need for new guidance.
This input was compiled and has inspired the content, form and visual expression of completely new material. At the same time, AAU's strategic ambitions have contributed to setting a framework for the staff performance and development review so that we ensure the development of both staff and AAU as a workplace.
The new AAU material is now available in Danish in the AAU Handbook for use in all future staff performance and development reviews; the English version is on the way. There will also be material for both management and group performance and development reviews. In the meantime, if you want to conduct management/group performance and development reviews based on the new concept, you can easily use the new material in a management development or group development context. The visual tools will recur in the management and group performance and development reviews; simply apply these with either the manager's or the group's development at the centre.
