Graduated in Electrical Engineering from India. Moved to Japan to work for Toshiba Semiconductors. My interest in Power Electronics developed extensively during my work at Toshiba. Then moved to Denmark to pursue Masters. Now working as researcher at the University.
As a Master student in Power Electronics and Drives, you are being trained to design and develop power electronics systems. But the training occurs in a controlled environment, and you are not sure if you can directly employ your training post graduation. But once you start working in industry / industry oriented projects you realize you are capable of lot more that you imagined
You are not a student anymore, you need to take responsibility and deliver as expectation.
In the field of power electronics Aalborg University holds a prominent position in the world.
If I could turn back time by more than 5 years then yes I would have chosen different field of study. But in the last 5 years I have been heavily focused on power electronics.
The university provides a special environment where you need to communicate with people very high degree of varying experience and knowledge. Thus you need to understand that and present your argument accordingly.
Met some incredible friends during extra-curricular activities.
Pursue people. Mail and ask professors if they have project. Seek out your interest.
