Take part in collaborative research projects with AAU

A collaborative research project is a collaboration between your company and researchers at Aalborg University (AAU). Together you shape the project content, and funding can also be shared.

The benefits of a collaborative research project with AAU

A collaborative research project is a chance for you to cooperate closely with AAU researchers in taking a scientific approach to issues facing your company, for instance organisation, technological development, design development, product development or production method development.

The project gives you the chance to create new learning opportunities and to gain precise new knowledge from the project. At Aalborg University, we have had very positive experiences with collaborative research projects, and we enter into more than 800 new agreements with companies every year.

How to establish a collaborative research project

The contents of a collaborative research project with Aalborg University will be jointly shaped by you and AAU researchers, which means that they can be tailored to suit your requirements . This provides both for your needs and for the needs of AAU.

A collaborative research project can involve any number of researchers, so budgets range from almost nothing to many millions. Once you have jointly defined the content and financing of your collaborative research project, drawing up a cooperation agreement with the University is easy.

Financing a collaborative research project with AAU

Collaborative research projects can be jointly financed and are often supplemented with external research funding from various grant programmes. For current grant programmes with relevance to AAU research areas, visit the website of the Aalborg University Fundraising and Project Management Office.

Here you can also learn about information meetings regarding funding opportunities, individual funds and programmes.

The Fundraising and Project Management Office is available to provide advice and guidance throughout the project life cycle - in the concept phase and the application process - and can offer to undertake project management when support has been granted.
