Advanced Statistics is a course from the 3rd semester of the Master in Applied Statistics.

During the course, you will develop your knowledge and skills within statistics, enabling you to handle complex and/or incomplete data sets and assessing the applicability of different statistics models in a given situation.

The course will provide you with knowledge and skills within:

  • Different types of regression models, e.g., non-linear regression, logistic regression, penalised regression
  • General principles for parameter estimation and their variance, e.g., maximum likelihood estimation
  • Missing data mechanisms and its limitations and remedies (e.g., multiple imputation)
  • Different types of correlated data (e.g., time series) and techniques to analyse such data (e.g. pairwise differencesand within-subject summary statistics)
  • Formulating a relevant statistical model for a certain problem

Estimating parameters for different kinds of statistical models, including quantifying their variance.
