Do you look for a career as a Master of Science in Engineering who keeps companies up to date with the latest developments in technology, management and organisation? Then the specialisation in Operations and Innovation Management may be the steppingstone for your future career.
An increasing number of companies operate in global, competitive and technologically advanced market environments and as a result, there is an increasing demand for engineers who can meet the challenges that come with globalisation and ongoing technological development.
The specialisation in Operations and Innovation Management provides you with analytical and design competences and skills in strategy, technology, innovation and change, in a global context.
Furthermore, you get the opportunity to build a network with industry even before graduation as the programme is characterised by a high degree of collaboration with industrial partners both at home and abroad.
In your semester projects, you will work with relevant issues in relation to operations and innovation management, that challenge you to use all of your acquired knowledge and understanding in analyzing, and developing effective solutions for real-life company problems. You and your project group will work intensively together with companies during the first two semesters. You do an academic internship at a company in the third semester, and graduate based on a master project, which is usually also done while working in a company. This gives you an excellent preparation for your career after you graduate.
Operations and Innovation Management is a full-time study programme, which is characterised by <a href="https://www.en.aau.dk/education/problem-based-learning">problem based project work.</a>
in groups. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you are required to be present for group work or lectures at the university on a daily basis and spend a vast majority of your day there.
If you complete the Master programme, you are entitled to the designation Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Management engineering with specialisation in Operation and Innovation Management).
As a graduate, you will be qualified to perform a number of challenging management tasks. Career opportunities are diverse, and you will not be limited to one job description. Our alumni have jobs such as business developer, vice-president engineering, innovation and R&amp;D, management consultant, sales director, global product manager, senior supply chain manager, and plant manager.

<h3>Academic content</h3>
During the specialisation in Operations and Innovation Management, you will obtain an international understanding of business development, and you will gain insight into management styles matching the future demands for leaders in global companies.
You will work with topics such as:

<li>Innovation and technology management</li>
<li>Integrated problem solving</li>
<li>Science technology</li>
<li>Planning and management of technological and organisational change</li>
<li>Continuous innovation</li>
<li>Organisational design</li>
<li>Enterprise engineering</li>
</ul>
The teaching combines lectures and project work. On your first two semesters, your time will be divided equally between courses and project work. Each semester has an overall theme and within this theme, you conduct a semester project with your project group, where you investigate and attempt to solve a relevant issue within your field of study.
The study programmes at AAU are based on problem based learning and project work, which gives you a unique opportunity to acquire new knowledge and competences at a high academic level in an independent manner. You get to apply theory to practice in your semester projects, which will prepare you better for your future career.
Management Engineering with specialisation in Operations and Innovation Management is a two-year Master's programme consisting of four semesters. Each semester provides you with 30 ECTS.
