Academic content
The first year of the degree builds a common academic qualification on top of the entry-level bachelor's degree, while specialization takes place in the second year of the degree through the integrated exchange program and project-oriented courses at the partner University towards the thesis.
The education is based on an interdisciplinary composition of the core elements of visual and digital communication and art pedagogy. These elements constitute the expertise and are linked with a module on project management, administration, entrepreneurship and business understanding.
The qualification provides competences for creative problem solving, including analyzing and designing change, development and learning, whether the goal is to improve a communicative practice, change a teaching practice, develop a product or an organizational practice. The education is organized as a project-oriented and problem-based study, where theoretical studies of digital and visual communication, information and communication technology, art, visual culture, art pedagogy and art-based methods will constitute the constituent skills.
NM NoVA offers a mix of problem-based and student-centred, hands-on experience with theoretical and practical studies in art, education, digital communication, and project management. NM NoVA graduates receive Master degree diplomas both from Aalborg University and Aalto University.
