AAU is committed to giving everyone equal opportunities and in recent years has launched a number of initiatives to eliminate the gender imbalance in the university's researchers and upper management, such as through the university's strategic action plan for equality and diversity.
- But AAU not only has an obligation to look inwards. As a university, we help create change throughout society. Through research that creates knowledge and education that creates learning, says Rector Per Michael Johansen, adding
- We want to utilise our knowledge. But we also want to learn more ourselves. Therefore, on International Women's Day, we have invited a number of speakers with strong profiles to take the temperature of gender equality in Denmark and debate how we remove the cultural and structural barriers that create gender inequality, says the rector.
