Honorary doctors welcomed

Can an academic conversation about a round table be more than intellectual? Yes, confirms yesterday's AAU Academic Round Table

It was a very special conversation that took place around the round table at the top of AAU INNOVATE, Science and Innovation Hub, which was the setting for the welcome of AAU's new honorary doctors yesterday. Rector Per Michael Johansen welcomed and then gave the floor to Distinguished Professor at AAU, Gregory Lip, who, in line with previous years, expertly moderated the discussion.

The topic was the role of universities now and in the future, and it was considered in the light of anything from geopolitical trends to artificial intelligence and the hypercomplexity that characterizes our society. And for those now thinking high lix numbers and academic lingo, we can reveal that it was much more than that.

- AAU Academic Round Table is always some good hours in an unpretentious scientific community. This year there was room for both deep reflections, but also many laughs and good humor. The conversation was enriching for everyone, but most of all it was a good and appropriate way to welcome our new honorary doctors, said Dean Lars Hvilsted Rasmussen, who was in charge of the event.

The upcoming honorary doctors will be formally honoured at the ceremonial part of AAU's annual celebration today.
