Distinguished professor Jos van Ommeren

Jos van Ommeren  (1966) is Professor of Urban Economics and  joined Aalborg University as a Distinguished Professor in 2022 at the Department of the Built Enviroment, Faculty of Engineering and Science.

Professor von Ommeren worked at the Dutch central bank, the European University Institute (Italy), University College London and Cranfield University (United Kingdom), and the Frisch Centre (Norway), and has been employed in the Department of Spatial Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is a fellow of the Tinbergen Institute.

Research

Jos van Ommeren research interests include urban, housing and transport economics with a focus on the welfare effects of urban policies such as the supply and regulation of public housing and Airbnb. He is currently involved in studies related to urban renewal and parking policy.
