The Danish news site, Seniormonitor, has recently written a piece on the early results of CfU's Antonia Scholkmann's project on generative AI in health education.
The 2SOSU-AI project follows the thesis that GenAI as a new technology with large language-based capabilities can help reduce the challenges that bilingual women may experience in SOSU education. According to Associate Professor Antonia Scholkmann, dropout rates and recruitment shortfalls are recognized as significant societal challenges, occurring simultaneously with a technological paradigm shift.
Among the bilingual SOSU students, language continues to be a key barrier to completing their education. As a part of the project, SOSU Fyn has developed the chatbot ‘Amina’. The chatbot ‘Amina’ is designed to serve as a tool to bridge linguistic barriers and support leaning.
The 2SOSU-AI project is an inter-sectoral collaboration between Aalborg University (AAU), Center for Uddannelsesforskning (Cfu), Center for Anvendelse af IT i Erhvervsuddannelse, Videncenter for Velfærdsteknologi Øst- og Vestdanmark (VFV) and 12 danish SOSU schools.
The newly published article not only highlights early findings from the project but also raises important questions about the role and implications of GenAI in social and health care professions.
