Medialogy
The Master's in Medialogy is for those who want to use media technologies to solve real-world user challenges. You will do hands-on work while learning about the science and technologies behind interactive digital systems such as apps, VR, computer games, Internet of Things and the physical interfaces of digital systems. You will learn to design and implement media technology solutions, often in close collaboration with companies, and you will work with user experience in professional settings.

You will learn to design and implement media technology solutions, often in close collaboration with companies, and you will work with user experience in professional settings.
About the programme
You should choose to study Medialogy if you are curious about how media technology can solve problems, and how people use technology, and if you want to develop new technology through prototyping, user testing and evaluation of your designs. The Master's gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the latest digital media products, technologies and solutions, both in theory and practice. We work across different technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, apps, game engines, artificial intelligence, computer vision and audio. You will learn about the science and technologies behind cutting-edge interactive digital systems and participate in developing computer games, working with computer-generated 3D graphics or interactive experiences. After the first semester, you must choose whether you want to continue in the Medialogy programme or specialise in Sound and Music Computing.

New Master’s options
We expect that as of 2028 you will be able to take this Master's degree programme as a 2-year programme (full-time study, 120 ECTS credits) and as a 3-year Master's for working professionals (first year full-time and then two years of part-time study in combination with relevant employment)

Semester overview
Traineeship or study abroad
On the third semester of the master's programme in Medialogy, you have the opportunity for an internship, either in Denmark or abroad. You can take an internship in a company, a public institution or a professional organisation. You may also choose an exchange stay at another university in Denmark or abroad.
A stay abroad helps your career
If you want a stay abroad during your education, it may further your job seeking upon graduation. The industry seeks people with international experience, especially within engineering, and therefore, AAU focuses on stays abroad. We want to give you the best start possible when you have finished your studies.
At the master’s level, we give you the opportunity to do an internship (in Denmark or abroad) or spend a semester abroad. We will assist you in finding the best place for you.
AAU co-operates with many universities across the globe, and we have solid contacts and co-operations with industry with regards to both student projects and internships.

Skills and job opportunities
With a master’s degree in Medialogy from Aalborg University, you will have both analytical and technical skills, making you much sought after for jobs where the ability to prototype and evaluate interactive products and analyze data from user experiments is key. Medialogists work with e.g. programming, software development, interaction design, It-consultancy, game development, web development or project management.
