Intelligent Reliable Systems, MSc in Engineering

The master's programme in Intelligent Reliable Systems (IRS) at Aalborg University Esbjerg concerns process control, reliability demands, fault detection and diagnosis in dynamic software- and hardware systems. By taking the Master's programme in Intelligent Reliable Systems at AAU Esbjerg you will be able to take part in the technological evolution on an international level. You will acquire competencies within system identification and identification and its application in engineering systems including comprehension of probability, statistic and stochastic processes. You will also work with fault diagnosis and reliability analysis.

During the programme you will learn about process control, reliability requirements, error detection an diagnosis of dynamic sofware and hardware systems, combining the theoretical knowledge with hands on experience. A subject of interest could be a commercial harbour, where the computer controled cranes need to be perfectly reliable as a failure could have severe consequences.

In your semester projects, you and your project group will work with relevant issues within the programme’s field of study that challenge you to use all of your knowledge to come up with possible solutions. You are encouraged to occasionally collaborate with external organisations and businesses in your projects to get an idea of the work processes and current issues in the industry. This will better prepare you for your own work life after you graduate.

This is a full-time study programme, which is characterised by problem based project work in groups. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you are required to be present at the university on a daily basis and spend a vast majority of your day there.

The Master’s programme entitles the full-time graduate to the title Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Intelligent Reliable Systems).

When doing project work, you work closely in groups with other students who have roughly the same academic interests and ambitions as yourself. This gives you the opportunity to cooperate, share knowledge and to explore larger and more complex academic problems than you would have been able to do on your own. Furthermore, the groups serve a social purpose and make it easier for you to get to know your fellow students.
